General Election November 5th
General Election November 5th
Born and raised in Independence Township, I grew up delivering newspapers, working at Pine Knob and the McDonalds on Sashabaw.
With a career spanning 32 years at AT&T, I’ve been giving back to the community for 15+ years and want to give even more. I have a desire to represent the aspirations and needs of our residents - and our residents alone.
I Love Our Township!
My wife Nuha and I raised our four children here and I’ve been an active volunteer in the community, from coaching baseball, to serving in local government.
I have been serving my community for over 15 years, and through that service, I have learned how to put people first and treat them with respect.
For 12 years as a trained counselor and group facilitator , I have learned the skills of listening to the needs of others and then helping them to find their solutions.
I have gained local government experience as a board member of the Independence Township Video Board and as Vice President of the Spring Lake North HOA.
I care about people and the value of our township.
For 50+ years I've watched our township grow. As it grows we increase traffic and the need to expand our parks, fire department and increase our police as well as other services and departments to accommodate this growth.
I will present ordinances that will decrease density and saturation of residential and commercial developments, and protection of our trees and green space.
I will review the masterplan and suggest changes and will review the work of the consultant that has been directing the township for 50 plus years.
I have a strong connection to our parks. I participated in soccer and baseball as a youth and was so excited every time the baseball signup cards were handed out in class at the end of the year at Pine Knob elementary.
The programs available are important to the physical and mental heath of our community.
I plan to bring new ideas to improve and expand our parks, and help them with alternative sources of funding.

I am the only candidate running for trustee that didn't pay to get on the ballot. I engaged with the residents first, listened to their concerns, and to see if I had their support to represent them through petitions. I started my campaign by saving money, and plan to do the same with taxpayer money too.
